My Reflection

I thought this course is good. Since I was in high school, I have never had an experience of presentation. At first I was afraid to do the presentation, because I didn’t have any confidence in my English. But Simon and my friends praised me so have gain confidence. Now presentation is still difficult but it is kind of fun. It is good to do with groups too. We can help each other and become friend. Not only good points but also there are bad points too. If someone is absent, I think that group should do presentation next week. Because I was absent at last presentation, I was deeply regret. I made speech and power point so I was sad about it. I liked the topic about “Autumn Festival” and” World Heritage Sites”. It was exciting to collect information and listening to other group’s speech. Trough this course, I have learned that when I make sentence, be careful with grammar, and importance of cooperate with friend in the same group. I want to continue this in next new semester.

MLC

Our group told about MLC. Do you know what MLC is? MLC stands for Multimedia Learning Center. In MLC students can collect information and can skill up by using multimedia. There are DVDs about 3,200, VHSs about 5,200 and CD-BOOKs about 800. We can study vocabularies and listening by enjoying watching movies. There are also has a big rooms to study in a group.

MLC is placed next to library. On weekdays MLC is open 9:00-19:00, on Saturday 9:00-14:00. MLC is useful to study more English so I recomend you to use it.

Earthquakes

I will tell you how to prepare for the earthquakes. Earthquake happens suddenly so preparing is so important.
First, use a rucksack so that both of your hands can use. Second, the most necessary thing is water and food. Food must be easy to eat and have a long “best before” date. Other things are household medicine, radio, battery, knife, photo of family, and stuff like that.
I also think it’s a good idea to keep 10 yen coins, because 10 yen coins can use in a public telephones. A radio wave might not work with a Mobil phones.
Make sure to decide where to meet up with your family. Earthquakes can happen any time, so be prepared.

◆Cheese Rolling Festival◆

I will talk about the rules of Cheese Rolling festival.

From the top of the hill, Double Gloucester cheese is rolled, and participant runs down the hill after it. The person who finished line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese. It has four races and one race for woman. The hill is 200 meters high and the cheese is 3.6 kilograms.

It has been more famous these days and this year a Japanese comedian called Daisuke Miyagawa joined this festival. He was the first man from Japan. In addition he won the 2nd prize. This was showed by TV program called “Itte Q”.

Mont Saint-Michel

Hello! Now I will talk about another World Heritage site in France. This is Mont Saint Michel. Have you ever heard of it?

Mont Saint Michel was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979. It is one of the Catholic religious houses.

Mont Saint Michel is in Northwest of France and it’s a small island in Saint-Malo bay. Saint-Malo bay is known by its violent tide. So it was difficult to go there, but it has a road now so that we can go there any time.

Parque España

Hello!!
Now, I’m going to tell you about foods in Parque España. There are many kinds of food such as Spanish food, Japanese food and fast food.

The Spanish restaurant is designed in the motif of the Alhambra. Alhambra is a famous place and it is the World Heritage!!

The foods are using fresh local seafood and vegetables from Shima. If you want to eat Spanish food, I recommend you to go Parque España.

Recommendation: I couldn’t help crying when I saw this movie. The story was very good. I like the scene of Mr. Yamazaki and Miss. Seki goes together under one umbrella. Mr. Yamazaki in this movie is really cool! He sings a song in the movie. This song is really nice. The words and the sounds are matching to this movie.

2. Notting Hill

Actors: Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts
Genre: Love story
Place: Notting Hill the western part of London
Runtime: 123 minutes.

Recommendation: I really like this movie. This is England movie but it’s famous in Japan too. I think street scene is nice. I especially like the last scene. All my family likes this movie and we have this DVD too. I also like the theme song by Elvis Costello called “She” and song by Ronan Keating called “When You Say Nothing At All”. I have Ronan Keating’s CD too. He is handsome! I will recommend you to see this movie.

Recommendation: This film is really good and it’s famous in all over the world. I have this film’s video at my house. The character Totoro is very cute. I like the scene of Satsuki and Mei waiting for their father at bus station. I have seeing this film many times since I was little.
